Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and user ID. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive your name from that provider, and Google and Facebook also share a link to your profile photo, which we do not use. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your own.
• Your content: the places, totes, items, notes, photos, and label templates you add. Photos are re-encoded before upload, which removes location metadata.
• Purchase information: the plan you bought, its status, and store transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details. On iOS we also receive Apple's Search Ads attribution token.
• Usage and device information: actions you take in the Service, answers you give during onboarding, pages you visit on our website, your device model, operating system, app version, language, and approximate country based on your IP address. This is linked to your user ID.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and error details.
• Communications: messages you send us, posts and votes on our feedback board, and the email address and optional first name you give when joining a waitlist.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or other data from your device beyond what is described here.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide the Service and sync your inventory across devices.
• To process purchases and manage your subscription.
• To send account and billing emails, and product updates you can unsubscribe from.
• To understand how the Service is used, fix problems, and improve it.
• To measure the performance of our advertising, as described in section 4.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
• To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models.

3. AI Features

When you use Itemify, the photo you submit is sent to Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud to identify the items in it. Google processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. We do not store the submitted photo; only the items you choose to save are kept.

4. Advertising Measurement

We do not show ads in StowQR. When we advertise StowQR elsewhere, the Android app may share your device's advertising ID and events such as installs, trials, and purchases with ad networks such as Google and Meta, so we can measure which ads work. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. The iOS app does not request tracking permission or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Where the law requires consent for advertising measurement, we ask for it first.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that operate the Service for us:
  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) for hosting, authentication, database and file storage, analytics, crash reporting, security checks, and AI processing
  • RevenueCat for subscription management
  • Loops for email
  • Canny for the feedback board
  • Apple, Google, and Meta when you use them to sign in
  • Apple and Google for app distribution and payments
• Ad networks, for advertising measurement as described in section 4.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of StowQR, our users, or others.
• Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and web app use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, for security checks, and for Google Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

7. Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in the app or web app (see how to delete your account). When you do, your account and content are deleted from our systems, and your email contact record is removed after a final confirmation email. Copies in server logs expire within 30 days.

Some information is kept after deletion: purchase records, as required for restoring purchases and for tax law; feedback board posts; and analytics and crash data, for up to 14 months. Contact us to request removal of any of these where the law allows.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You can view and edit your content in the app, export it (Pro), delete your account at any time, and unsubscribe from product emails. You can also contact us to access, correct, or delete your information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

California residents have the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, to opt out of its "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. Sharing for advertising measurement (section 4) may count as "sharing"; you can opt out by deleting your Android advertising ID or by contacting us. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf.

EEA, UK, and Swiss residents: we process your information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, with your consent where required, and to comply with law. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your information, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We encrypt data in transit and at rest and restrict access to each user's own data. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. International Users

StowQR is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
