QR Code Storage Labels — Compatible Avery Templates
Print QR labels at home on standard paper or Avery® label sheets — no proprietary hardware, no special printer.
How to print a StowQR label
- Open a tote in the StowQR app and tap Print Label. Pick a label size and an appearance (Standard, Dots, or Squircle), then export the PDF.
- Load your Avery sheet (or plain paper) into a home inkjet or laser printer. Print at 100% scale — don't let the printer driver “fit to page,” or the labels will land off-grid on the Avery sheet.
- Peel the label off the sheet and stick it to the tote. Open the app, scan the QR code, and confirm the right tote opens.
Pick a label size
Two sizes cover almost every storage scenario. The 2"×2" sheet is the sensible default; pick 3"×3" if you'll be scanning from across a basement or storage unit.

Once the label is on the tote
You can add items to the tote one by one, or you can open the tote, tap Itemify, and let StowQR's AI catalog every item in the box from a single photo — names, thumbnails, and all.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a special label printer?
- No. StowQR labels print on any home inkjet or laser printer. We support standard Avery® sheets you can pick up at any office-supply store or order from Amazon.
- Can I use plain paper instead of label sheets?
- Yes. Print on plain paper, cut the labels out, and tape them to your totes. The QR codes scan just as reliably — adhesive label sheets are a convenience, not a requirement.
- What if my QR label gets damaged?
- Reprint any label as many times as you need, at no extra cost. The QR code is tied to the tote in the app, so a fresh print works immediately.
- Which label size should I pick?
- The 2"×2" sheet (12 labels per page) is the right default for most household totes — small enough to fit on the lid of a shoebox, large enough to scan from across the garage. Pick 3"×3" if you're labeling large bins or storing them more than 6 feet from where you'll typically scan.
- Will any QR scanner read these labels, or do I need StowQR?
- Any QR scanner can read the code — the URL inside opens the matching tote in StowQR. If you have the StowQR app installed, scanning with your phone's camera opens the tote directly via a Universal Link.
